Venues West Women's Triathlon Training Course

The Venues West Women's Triathlon Training Course is an 6-week training program, consisting of 3 sessions per week (swimming, cycling and running) culminating in the 2012 Women's Triathlon. For the third year Venues West will run courses both at Challenge Stadium and Arena Joondalup.

This year the training course will include a beginners and an intermediate training group.

The beginners group is aimed at women who have never participated in a triathlon before or have only done a couple and would like to learn the basics of triathlon.

The intermediate course is aimed at those who have either completed the beginners course in previous years or those who have completed several triathlons and would like to increase their knowledge of triathlons.

The training course starts on the 7th January 2012 concluding the week of the Women's Triathlon.

The training course costs $269 and includes your pool entry and event entry.

All sessions are conducted by qualified coaches who provide instruction, build confidence and help you reach your goal of completing the triathlon. The coaches will split groups up into people with similar abilities so that you are training with people of a similar standard. Most of all they will ensure you have fun!

All sessions for the Challenge Stadium Training Course (unless otherwise noted) are conducted at Challenge Stadium, Stephenson Ave, Mt Claremont. Arena Joondalup Training Course is conducted at Arena Joondalup, Kennedya Dr, Joondalup.

The Training Course typically sells out - so make sure you get in early!

Entry into the Training Course includes the following:

  1. Three training sessions per week (one swim, one cycle and one run)
  2. Entry in to Aquatic Centres at Arena Joondalup and Challenge Stadium (participants of the training course will be provided with a 6 session entry card to the appropriate aquatic centre)
  3. Nutrition Seminar
  4. Bike Maintenance, Shoe Selection, Stretching and Injury Prevention Talks
  5. Triathlon Top to wear when you compete in the Women’s Triathlon (provided the week before the triathlon)
  6. Entry into the Women’s Triathlon

All dates for seminars will be provided by Venue West in the participant information booklet that will be email to participants one week before the commencement of the course.

Please note: this training schedule is for a sprint distance triathlon (750m Swim, 20km Cycle, 5km Run), if you wish to participate in the short or mini triathlon simply half the training time and distances to reach your goal!
